What are ad hoc Resources?
Tasks for an entire department - without assigning individual resources by name
A typical example of ad hoc tasks:
We have a support and helpdesk department of 10 people. Several support tickets and calls come in every day. It would be madness to have to plan all these individual activities.
This is where the ad hoc resource comes in. We plan a work package for the customer support hotline for a month, for example, and schedule the entire department to work on this package with a certain amount of effort. By marking ad hoc, each person in the department is authorised to create time confirmations including comments.
The individual confirmations are listed in the Project Planner below the resource allocation.
This provides management, department heads or team leaders with information about which people have worked and how much effort they have put in.
