How can assigned resources gain insight into the overall project?

Is there a function for this, and what information becomes visible?

In Can Do, it is possible to automatically grant all resources assigned to a project read access to the entire project. This function is intended to increase transparency within the project and to give project team members a better understanding of the overall context and their role within it.

As soon as an employee is assigned to any object (e.g., work package, phase, etc.) within a project, they automatically receive read access (Project Info right) to all other objects within the same project.

This setting is configured server-side and applies system-wide. To activate it:

  • The corresponding option must be enabled on the server.

## Automatic viewer privileges on a project

# true - if a user gets any privilege on a PMO, another privilege is granted on the project object

# false - no extra privileges (default)

autoProjectPrivileges =  false
  • The server must then be restarted for the change to take effect.

Permission Customization

Which information within other project objects is visible can be adjusted through additional settings. By default, all information is visible. However, it is possible to hide certain data — for example, cost information or reported hours.

This allows the permission behavior to be flexibly adapted to different data protection or project requirements.
