Can project objects be connected to each other with a technically logical sequence?
Project objects can be connected in a technically logical sequence. First click on the "Edit" tab. Select the project object you wish to connect. It does not matter whether you select a project, a sub-project, a phase, a sub-phase, a work package or a milestone. Then simply click on the "Link options" icon and then on "Link" A window will open containing all the key information about the selected object.
First determine the connection type: End-End, End-Start, Start-End or Start-Start. Then select the object you want to create a connection with from the list. Confirm with "Save" and the connection is displayed as a line in the Gantt chart.
Optionally, you can store a minimum distance between the two objects (in days or in working days), which is monitored by the Can Do Risk Management.
To delete the link, click on the link line and then on the symbol "Link options" - "Delete Link".
You can also link objects directly in the Gantt chart: If you hold the mouse pointer over an object, two points become visible in front of and behind the object. Click on one of the points and keep the mouse button pressed.
Drag the line that has now appeared to the desired point of the object you want to link to. Note that you determine the type of linking here yourself, depending on whether you choose the point in front of the object, i.e. the start, or behind the object, i.e. the end.
If you have several projects open at the same time, you can also chain across projects.
Chaining is monitored by the Can Do risk management: If you move an object in such a way that the logic created by the connection is no longer feasible, Can Do displays a corresponding risk.
